Questions

How Namealike works, what it covers, and what it doesn't.

Is this legal advice?

No. We're not a law firm. We flag filings that might conflict with your mark and explain why in plain English. Whether to act, and how, is a question for a trademark attorney.

Do you use AI?

Yes. We run our own models, trained on thousands of real US trademark disputes, on our own hardware, with no cloud AI. The free check's deeper mode runs our model right in your browser. Your data is never used for training.

What does an alert look like?

An example with made-up names, in the format we send. Every match links to its official USPTO record.

Namealike Trademark alert: 1 new filing like BRIGHTLEAF

A new US trademark filing could be confused with BRIGHTLEAF:

BRITELEAF TEA CO strong match

BRITELEAF TEA CO sounds nearly identical to your BRIGHTLEAF for the same tea goods, so buyers could easily mix them up.

What you can do: keep an eye on it. Once it's published you have 30 days to object; an attorney can tell you whether it's worth acting.

Do I need a registered trademark?

No. You can watch a pending application or a brand name you use but haven't filed yet. If you have a serial number, we use it to read your exact goods and services.

What does it cover?

New applications filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office that contain words: brand names and slogans alike. It doesn't cover logo marks (yet), state trademarks, other countries, or business names that were never filed as trademarks.

Will it catch everything?

No watch does. We tested it on real trademark disputes. Its name screening caught 95 of 100 filings that owners actually went on to oppose, each hidden among a full day of new applications. That's why we email you anything that's close and let you decide.

How is this so much cheaper than other watch services?

It's automated from start to finish. No analyst reads your results, so there's no analyst to pay. You still get daily coverage of every new US filing, with every alert explained.

Are you the USPTO?

No. We're an independent service, not affiliated with the USPTO. Be wary of letters or emails that look official and ask for payment after you file. We'll never contact you about a filing unless you've signed up.

How do I cancel?

Any time, from the "Manage subscription" link at the bottom of every email or this page. Your watch runs until the end of the period you've paid for.

Check your brand now. See which new US trademark filings from the last 30 days look like yours. Free, no signup. Then let Namealike check every new filing for you, every day, for $49 a year.
